Nestled in Chelsea, a neighborhood best known for its bluechip galleries, experimental art spaces, and world-class museums, the Roc Nation offices fit right in. But it’s not only because of the entertainment company’s impressive roster of talent and creative business lines, but also their one-of-a-kind art collection art collection featuring works by both established and emerging artists.
Working closely with Roc Nation’s CEO Desiree Perez, Saatchi Art Chief Curator and VP of Art Advisory Rebecca Wilson helped to add new works to the collection on display at the sleek, collaborative, six-floor working space designed by Jeffrey Beers International.
As one of the world’s preeminent entertainment companies, Roc Nation undoubtedly understands the power of art. Founded by Jay-Z in 2008, they work in every aspect of modern entertainment—from representing recording artists and producers to owning a fashion line, media relations agency, and sports division—and their client list includes some of the world’s most recognizable names from Rihanna to Shakira.
While Jay-Z’s team selected some of the new artworks themselves, Rebecca also identified additional large-scale pieces that would make an impact, spark conversations, and be memorable to visitors and employees alike. Rebecca put together a wide-ranging collection of original artworks featuring high-impact pieces by an international roster of artists including Marc Jung, Eddie Love, Thomas Gromas, Cyrus Smith, and Gian Luigi Delpin. Once the team aligned on the new additions, Rebecca had them framed locally in New York City, so they were ready to install at the offices as quickly and seamlessly as possible.
