Privacy Notice

The “Saatchi Art on TV” App (the “App”), our new art streaming service, enables you to access the contents of our Saatchi Art website on your TV set.

This Notice summarily explains how Saatchi Art (“we”) collects and uses your personal information through the App.

For all details about how we collect, use and otherwise process that personal information in the App and through our other services, and to learn about your privacy rights regarding that personal information, please refer to our full Privacy Notice, available at https://www.saatchiart.com/privacy, and to our Cookie Notice, available at https://www.saatchiart.com/cookie_notice/.

What information does the App collect from you?

We collect information about your browsing activity and, if you decide to buy works of art, we will enroll you in our Premium Account, collect that purchase data and the same information we ask users when they register on our saatchiart.com website.

  • Information about your activities in the App include what content you are viewing and purchasing, the features you use, when and from what type of TV set you viewed or purchased them, and where, but only up to the level of your city or billing zip code. Content viewed includes the pages viewed from your TV set: session data (the meta-data related to your browsing session), collection views (the views related to art collections), artwork unique views (the views of works of art associated with the device ID of your TV set) and artwork viewing time (the time you spent viewing works of art).
  • When you register for a Standard or Premium Account on the App, Saatchi Art will also collect your first and last names and email address as part of the registration process through the saatchiart.com website. From that point, your browsing activities on the App will be associated with your activities on our website.
  • Once you register for a Premium Account, the information you might have previously viewed with a Standard Account on the App will not be associated to your Premium Account and will be deleted within 5 years.
  • We do not collect any payment information you provide when registering for a Premium Account: it will be exclusively collected and used by an external payment processing service provide

How does the App use your information?

We use this information to provide the service, improve the App, help optimize the service for you and other users, pay the artists featured in the App, and send you subscription-related notifications.

  • If you register for a Standard Account on the App, we will use the information about the pages you view from your TV set (session data, collection views, artwork unique views and artwork viewing time) only for the purpose of keeping track of how many minutes of viewing time subscribers, in the aggregate, spend on each artwork so that we can use that data to improve the App for you and other users.
  • Once you register for a Premium Account on the App, we will collect the pages you view from your TV set to:
    • associate them with the device ID of your TV set so that we are able to keep track of your subscription status as a premium account holder in the App;
    • pay the artists who are featured on the App for using their images according to the time that our paying subscribers spend viewing their works of art; and
    • maintain statistics of how many minutes of viewing time subscribers, in the aggregate, spend on each artwork so that we can use that data to improve the App for you and other users.
  • We will notify you whenever your free trial ends, when your next billing cycle begins, and about any updates to the App features and bug fixes.

When do we communicate with you on the App?

We may use the information in your account (your first and last names, email and subscription status) to send you communications about the App and related products, services or offers that may be of interest to you. We may also use information about your browsing activity within the App to send you emails about new App features, content, and offers.

How can you opt out of our marketing emails?

  • As a guest user, you can opt out of receiving these emails by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link in the emails we send you about the App.
  • As a Standard or Premium Account user, you can also opt out from receiving these App-related emails in the same manner: by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link in the emails we send you. However, you will still receive marketing emails related to our saatchiart.com website unless you update your email preferences in the Preference Center of our website. 

For how long does the App retain your information?

We retain information associated with your browsing activity on the App for 5 years. We also retain a record of your purchases for at least as long as you have an account with us to allow you to download those purchase records.
